MR. W. E. SNYDER DEAD.

Death Came to An Old Settler Yesterday

Morning at His Home

Mr. W. E. Snyder died yesterday morning at about 8 o’clock at his home just east of the Main street bridge, aged 69 years. His death was due to heart trouble and he had been ill only a few days. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the residence and the remains will be interred in Oakwood cemetery. W. H. Grierson will conduct the services.

Mr. Snyder was one of the oldest settlers in this part of the state, having lived in the vicinity of Parsons since 1872. About six years ago he removed with his wife to this city and had been living here ever since. He was a soldier in the union army and a member of the G. A. R. and his funeral will be attended by many of the members of that order from which the pall bearers have been selected.

Mr. Snyder was the father of five children, one daughter, Mrs. Kelly of Bartlesville, Okla., who was here at the time of her father’s death and four sons, Samuel Snyder, James Snyder, T. W. Snyder and W. E. Snyder, Jr. all of whom were present at the bedside when death summoned him away. He also leaves a wife and three brothers and one sister, the last three now living in Illinois.

Mr. Snyder was well known in this city, and his death is regretted by the many people who were intimately acquainted with him.
