DEATH OF W. B. PIXLEY.

Waldo B. Pixley passed away at St. John’s hospital, Iola, Friday morning, November 7, at 4 o’clock, after an illness extending over two years, one year of which he was confined to bed.

He was born at Marietta, Ohio, February 7, 1843, and was at the time of his death 76 years and 9 months of age. He was a pioneer merchant of Winfield, Kans., and was in the mercantile business for more than fifty years, seven years of that time at Humboldt. He was a Civil war veteran, a member of the 60th Regiment, 10th Illinois. Mr. Pixley is survived by his widow and five daughters, Mrs. J. E. Darby, Mont. Clare, N. J.; Mrs. F. G. Conrad, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. F. W. McKinney, Muskogee, Okla.; Mrs. H. E. Cooper, Winfield, Kans., and Miss Minnie Pixley of Humboldt, and one son, R. D. Pixley, of Sapulpa, Okla.

The remains were taken to Winfield Saturday to the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. E. Cooper, where on Sunday at 2:30 o’clock an Episcopal service was held. The Ladies of the G. A. R. gave their flag service at the grave, burial being in the family lot in Winfield cemetery.
