KELSEY

Wm. Kelsey was born in Lawrence county, Ind., Dec. 26, 1841, and died Jan. 26, 1913, aged 71 years.

He was inlisted in the 8th Iowa Infantry Sept. 12, 1861, and was finally discharged April 22, 1866, having given four years and seven months service, six months of which were spent in a confederate prison.

In early life he was converted ant joined the United Brethren church, serving as a minister more than twenty years, and as Presiding Elder of the East Des Moines, Ia., conference, representing this body as delegate to the general conference of the United Brethren church at large.

Moving to Oklahoma in 1893, he became affiliated with the Congregational church, where his last pastoral service was given.

He was married to Mrs. C. L. Leffingwell, March 18, 1883, at Moulton, Ia. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Olive Pennington, Wichita; Mrs. Lois Morgan, Yates Center; Mrs. Lydia Quigley and James Kelsey, Vernon; Mr. D. N. Kelsey, a son by a former marriage, resides at Mt. Ayer, Iowa.
