  William Alfred Moore died at his home in this city Tuesday, after an illness of several weeks at the advanced age of 78 years, 6 months and 9 days.

  Mr. Moore was born in South Carolina, June 12 1832.  While young he went to Indiana, where he enlisted in the service during the war and served under General Logan.

  He came to Kansas and to Neosho County in 1870.  March 30, 1877, he was united in marriage to Marie E. Brown, who, with seven children all grown, survive him.  In 1884 he purchased a farm in West Lincoln, where he lived for eight or ten years, then moving to this city, where he spent the remainder of his life.

  Mr. Moore joined the M. E. Church in 1891, and lead a good Christian life.

  The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. D. Stout, interment in Hope cemetery.

  The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all.
