In Memorium.

  At a regular meeting of Walton post No. 443, G. A. R., held at Walton, March 23d, 1889, the following resolutions were adopted:

  WHEREAS, God in his wisdom has seen it to remove from our midst our friend and faithful comrade, Wm. Tucker, of Co. E 10th Reg. Ill. Inft., and,

  WHEREAS, He has been from the organization of this post a most exemplary member of the G. A. R., and in the death of our comrade we recognize the hand of love, and we bow in submission to the will of our Heavenly Father therefore be it

  Resolved That while we bow in sorrow, that in our meetings we shall see his face no more, we rejoice in the hope that he has gone to join the G. A. R. above.

  Resolved, That we as members of Walton Post G. A. R. shall endeavor to cherish the sentiments of our beloved order, and we keenly feel the loss of our comrade from our midst, but feel that our loss is his eternal gain.

  Resolved, Therefore that we extend to the family of our departed comrade our heartfelt sympathy in this their hour of affliction and bereavement, believing that God does all things well, we humbly bow in submission to his will.  A few more battles to fight, a few more sorrows, a few more trials, a few more hardships to endure and we shall strike glad hands to part no more.  In God we trust.

  Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on the minutes of our Post, and a copy furnished the family of our departed comrade and the Adjutant furnish THE NEWTON REPUBLICAN and Newton Kansan copies for publication.
