First Southern Baptist Church
The First Southern Baptist Church was formed in the early 1970’s as a schismatic body from the Central Baptist Church. Their services are held in the former Salvation Army building at 107 East Seventh. Prior to that, services were held in homes and at Canterbury Village. Their first pastor was Reverend Dan Maxwell.

NOTE: 6-12-1990 - The First Southern Baptist Church has disbanded several years ago. South-Central Baptist Association bought the old Salvation Army building and used it as office space.
