I have a photo in my grandmother's files of Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Hudson home in Winfield, KA. no address given. Judging from the vehicle in front perhaps a touring car model A or T tpye (don't know old cars very well) and the sepia toned photo, it was proabably early 1900's. The photo of the house in Winfield, KA. (Mr and Mrs. Geo Hudson home) is an unknown relationship, my father now 81 thinks they may have been my grandmother's cousins and maybe had a jewelry shop somewhere. They would have been related to MOYER. Do you have any knowledge of this line?

My MOYER line was in MO. but grandmother corresponded with and visited some MOYER cousins in KA. I know they were in Ray county MO. but lose them from there. As a child I visited with grandma the following places. Jefferson City, MO. Richmond, MO. Eldorado, KA.and Witchita, KA. Unfortunately I was to young to remember names of these elderly people. I hope we can make a connection.

Seeking any information concerning MOYER family. Benjamin F. MOYER b. in Orange County, IN. in 1833. Benjamin F. was a prominent farmer in Ray Co. following Civil War. Married Olive HULL 1857. 3 Children lived to adulthood. Fanny married Theodore WORTHING or WARDEN or WARTHEN, Alice married George STIGALL, Josephine married David RIDER. As late as 1950's some relatives were in Richmond area. Benjamin also had brothers living or visiting in MO. WILLIAM H. b. 1843 in IL supposedly died in Richmond June 27, 1879. His wife Elle, and children Srilda and William H. Jr. were probably still in Indiana. Bothers James A.MOYER b. 1841 and John W. MOYER b. 1839 may also have lived in the area. They may also have moved to KA. My grandmother visited MOYERS in both states as late as 1950. Benjamin's mother was Sarah Pippen who probably moved to Ray county following the death of her husband Paul Nathan MOYER in Paris, IL.

Paul Nathan MOYER and Sarah PIPPEN were married in Orange County, IN.They came from NC and SC respectively. Sarah had a sister, I believe, who married George MOCK. Both families moved to Paris, IL. I have some information of the MOCKfamily. I think there may also have been MOCK families in your area. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I have quite a bit of information on early MOYERS to share. I also have many photos (including Civil War photo of Benjamin F.) and a few letters. I'm really hopeful you have some answers.
Thank you for any help! Meg de Mougin in Indiana

I have been unable to find Floral Kansas on any map. From an old letter I have, it appears an ancestor of mine, Gideon Lease, lived in Floral, Kansas about 1900. Would you happen to know if this town existed and, if so, what township it was located in? If the name has changed, would you know where it is now called? Thank you so much for any help you may be able to give me.

William M. PERSING, and I think wife Gracie Joy Persing moved to the Dexter, Cowley County area after 1875 from Eudora. They lived there until Wm. made the 1889 land run to Gutherie, OT. Except for one cemetery that listed two of their children, I have not been able to find any more information about the family while they were there. She or second wife would not go to homestead with WM, so stayed in Cowley County. I am looking for land, tax, census records, marriage records, etc. to show what happened in those years. Yountest son of WM is said to be with another wife, but do not know name or when married. I would appreciate any information that someone can help me with. Ina Persing Pummill

I was just thrilled to find your site and wanted to let you know I am doing family lines in Winfield and having a hard time finding the person I want to find. I have a lady in Utah that has opened some doors for me. I am wanting some information on the SE Compton Co. that was around in 1905. I was wondering what sort of business it was. My great gr. mother and gr. gr father worked as a team. I am also looking for her. She show us on a city directory in 1908 with her husband and 1905 alone but I can not find a death for her. Not sure where to turn. Limited on funds to make phone calls. She resided in the home on Leonard Heth in 1905. But not 1910. Any suggestions? I know she must have died between 1908 and 1910 since Leonard has her child. The child was raised by an aunt since the death of her mother. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
