When James died in 1917 at Fort Scott, his obituary listed his married daughters only by their spouses names, so I do not know who married whom. The Kansas State Historical Society has some information on doctors, and will be able to help.

For the first link, the library staff will copy the requested information. Refer to the link on the page for more information. The second link is a reference to a book at the society Library. Quite likely, if your doctor died in Kansas, he will be listed in the index.

Their home page is www.kshs.org If you go there and take the
link to "Research and Collections", you will find a treasure trove of sources, many of which are micro filmed and available for interlibrary loan. Search around, especially the links to "Newspapers", "Census" and "Genealogy".

Consolidated Index to Kansas Physicians and Midwives (1887-1900)Registered with The Kansas Board of Health: and Dickman's Medical Directory(1881)

Refer to the link on this page to get information in these

Kansas. Historical Society. Library. Index to Obituaries from the Kansas Medical Journal, 1889-1966. 1967. 37 pp.

Contains the name, date and place of death, and the volume and page number of the obituary. Obituaries usually include the doctor's age or birth date, name of medical school, year of graduation, and specialty. These obituaries are "professional" obituaries and do not contain any family information as such. Between 1966 and 1980, the obituaries are individually cataloged in the Kansas card catalog. The index continues from 1981 to 1983 when obituaries were not longer printed in the Kansas Medical Journal.

You will need to check the newspaper microfilms for an obituary containing family information. This is the search page link:

And this page lists various county records micro filmed and available for interlibrary loan:

I am looking for info on my family who resided in Pittsburg during the early 1900's. Am looking for info on my cousin Katherine Blair, daughter of Ira E. & Vic Blair. Katherine was born in Jan 1926 and died about 1956 in CO. She was brought back to Pittsburg for burial and most likely would have been buried at Mt. Olive or Highland Park. From: Michael Hoffman shireltd@attbi.com

Yes, I am still looking for information on Edward Francis Hoffman and family. I still need to find out when they moved to Cherokee and when they moved on. Also, the maiden and given name of Edward's second wife. She was a widow and her previous married surname was Clements. His first wife, Louisa Cordelia Crump is believed to have died in Cherokee on or around 20 March 1881 and was supposed to have been buried in Kansas but I have not found her listed in the cemetery in Cherokee. My grandfather Arthur Francis Hoffman was born in or near Cherokee, Kansas in 1877. Edward attended the College of the Bible in Kentucky from 1870 to 1872. He and Louisa married on 3 March 1876. It appears that they moved to the Cherokee area between March 1876 and January 1877. I believe they continued to live in the area at least through 1881.

I am researching the Brundage and Parent families in Crawford and Cherokee Counties. Particularly Andrew and Mary L.(Ella) Parent, Hiram and Elizabeth Parent, and George W. and Anna Caroline Brundage. The Parent family came west from Vermillion Co., Indiana and the Brundage family came from McDonough and Schuyler Co., Illinois. I have quite a bit of info on the Brundage family but my information on the Parent family ends with Hiram. Contact me at: wshelter@povn.com

I'm searching for information on my ancestors who were living in Crawford County between the years 1880-1912. Some of the children may have moved to Harper County. The parents were John and Mary Robertson both from Scotland. John was born around 1818.
The children that I know of are:

Andrew Robertson was married to Lizzie and I know they had at least two children. I believe one son was named Robert.

George Robertson... no dates or record of marriage

Robert Robertson .....no dates , I do know he was married, but no record of wife's name

John Robertson...no dates, he was married and I know of one daughter named Flora

Roseanne Robertson.. Born DEC 13, 1862 and died 1929 in Colorado
I do know she was married to a Mr. Heise in 1887 in Harper Kansas.

I'm sorry, but this is all I have. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
