I have just started researching my family history, and haven't gotten very far. I don't know if it might be the same line or not. I know that my GGrandfather, Robert John GARRETT, was in Kansas for quite some time, but I'm not sure of the time. I haven't been able to find him anywhere. I know that he died in Noble County, Oklahoma, about 1964. I would really appreciate anything that you think might help.McCOYs from Holton Twp., Jackson Co. 1860/after

I am looking for more info. on McCOY names below in marriage indexes and WPA Cemetery Records.1860/1870 Census Holton Twp., Jackson Co.

Rebecca (Lundy) Lawrance, a sister to Phebe (Lundy) McCoy mentioned above, was orginally thought to be a natural mother to my ancestor, Minnie Adell Lawrence/Lawrance and have been told that she was an aunt who raised Minnie. Minnie is in 1870 Census Iowa as 2 yrs old under Rebecca's husband's name. With that info., it was then originally thought that Phebe (Lundy) McCoy might have been a natural mother to Minnie until I just found out the names of most or all Phebe's children yesterday that makes it less likely. With this new discovery, it's a possibility that Rebecca and Phebe's another sister might have been a natural mother to Minnie. The problem is that there were 13 siblings with 5 females and one gender unknown (probably died in infancy). All these females were all covered for and less likely to be a mother to Minnie, except for a remaining one that is still a mystery. I hope I don't ran out of females after the remaining one (grin).
The purpose of this posting is that I just wanted to get enough information on McCoys from the records as indicated above at Jackson Co., KS area to cover all the bases in my research and eliminate any errors from making any hypothesis.
Thank you very much and your help will be greatly appreciated.
