Query:
I am trying to locate living descendants of the Avery CALAHAN family. Avery married Salina MODLIN 14 Nov 1886 in Jewel Co KS. The children: Catherine Belle b 1887(m Clyde FRANCES), Margaret Waud b 1888(m Guy OMAR), Elias Modlin b 1890, Lidia Rose b 1891, Clarisia b 1893 (m I N JORDAN), Emma Joyce b 1894 (m Ray BURNHAM), Amos Gillette b 1896 (m Artie SMITH),John Dewey b 1898 (m Alice KUNZE),Marie Salina b 1902 (m Charle MOORE)
Salina (MODLIN) CALAHAN was the daughter of Elias MODLIN who died in the Civil War. Her mother remarried to Benjamin WAUD and I think the MODLIN children all lived in Jewel County
Brothers:John F b 1856 and Chalmers b 1858 had MODLIN surname.
The CALAHAN family were lifelong residents of Jewel Co. and parents probably buried at Burr Oak.
I will appreciate any help at all. If you know any of this family or are a descendant please contact me. Cousin Virginia
