HANDLING CONTAGIOUS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES
In 1893, the Lincoln Republican printed instructions at the request of Dr. H.M. Hall, the county health officer, about the handling of infectious diseases such as scarlet fever and diphtheria.

DR. PATTERSON'S PLEA
In a letter to a Lincoln newspaper in 1902, Dr. William Patterson makes a plea with his neighbors and patients: no more night calls. Like many country doctors, Dr. Patterson had a large area of the county but he was 70 years old and unable to get about as he used to. It's a nice glimpse at the life of a country doctor.
