Mary was born about June 1838, daughter of Isaiah BRUCE and Sarah "Sally" JUSTICE. After the Civil War, Mary (BRUCE) MILLER and her husband, Jacob E. MILLER, with one child I have found, named Lucille P. MILLER born abt. 1868 (don't know if she was born in Virginia or Kansas), moved to Morris County, Kansas. Mary Jane (BRUCE) MILLER died in 1889 in Morris County, Kansas. Jacob E. MILLER was the son of Allen and Ann MILLER of Virginia. Jacob E. MILLER enlisted May 3, 1862 in Bland County, Virginia, Co. G., 36th Infantry. Her son, John RINARD and his wife Rachel (MINNEY) RINARD lived and died in Morris County, Kansas (perhaps near Parkerville). Their son, Hamilton Parr RINARD is buried somewhere near Parkerville (1842-1930) and their daughter, Jane RINARD (1844-1922), is buried near Parkerville. John was born in Monroe County, Ohio. To his first marriage with Elizabeth Corey on January 2, 1872 in Howard County, Indiana, were born five children: William H., who died April 28, 1913 in Dunlap, Morris County; Clara Ellen, who was married on August 4, 1896 in Morris County to Francis "Mike" BORDERS; Emma, who died in infancy; Walter; and Cora B., (the latter two having migrated to California). To Joseph Trimble OAKLEY's second marriage with Sarah (HAMBLIN) EMRICK (widow of Francis EMRICK) on December 6, 1890 in Council Grove, Morris County, were born five more children: Alva E., married in 1914 to Sarah ?; Carl H., married November 1921 to Anna ?; Joseph Jay, who died when less than two years old; Dessie Almira, who married first, Clyde RIGGS and second, Logan Coyd TAGGART, and who died in 1995 in Emporia, Lyon County; and Harry Wiley, who died at age four.
