DAY. Specifically, trying to find where she is buried. She died June 11, 1889 at the age of 48. Her husbands name was John D. DAY, her maiden name was PANCOAST. She could be listed under her name or his name. He moved away from the state and died elsewhere, so he is not buried in Morris County. I have had people search the Dwight Cemetery directories without much luck under her name. Maybe someone may have some information on this. ------------------------------------------------ BRUCE...KEMP...TURPIN Talma Klaassen (tbk@wichita.infi.net) 27 June 2001 Seeking information from descendants of Thomas BRUCE and Mary (KEMP) (TURPIN) BRUCE. ------------------------------------------------ ENGLER Donna Brown (r-dbrown@r-v.net) 21 June 2001 Looking for information on George and Christine ENGLER in or around Council Grove, Kansas in 1888. Their son Samuel ENGLER was born in Council Grove on March 21, 1888. ------------------------------------------------ HILDEBRECHT/HILDEBRACHT FORSTER/FOSTER Karrie Stutsman (klstutsman@yahoo.com) 20 June 2001 I'm wondering if anyone can help me find out information about my family. My Great-Great-Grandmother was Ethel Julia HILDEBRECHT, born February 23, 1860 (a birth certificate shows she was born in Council Grove, Kansas, but the 1900 census record shows she was born in Ohio). She married Charles Carl FORSTER/FOSTER about 1888. My Grandmother died and I received some of her things. One of them is a wooden chest of drawers which has a note in it that says her Grandmother's father made the piece. He brought it from Germany and lived in Council Grove, Kansas. His name was HILDEBRECHT/HILDEBRACHT. I also received pictures with names: Art, Freddie, Roy, Billie, and Effie HILDEBRECHT. I have many tin-type pictures and other pictures which I believe are probably HILDEBRECHT's. In my Great-Great-Grandfather's daily journal book dated from 1873-1891 (The cover is stamped "Council Grove Section Six"), he has recorded that William HILDEBRECHT, died September 22, 1886, Henry HILDEBRECHT, died June 2, 1887 and Mina HILDEBRECHT died August 18, 1891. ------------------------------------------------ ALLEN...THOMPSON Dee Yeager (dyeager@urx.com) 14 June 2001 Seeking descendants of John THOMPSON and Maud ALLEN to return a small reproduced picture to them that I have. Picture is of Maud (ALLEN) THOMPSON and two children, John "Jack" Wiley THOMPSON and Isaac William THOMPSON, both born in Council Grove, Kansas. According to the back of the picture Isaac, the youngest child drowned at Hagerman, Idaho. If this is your line, please contact me so that I can give you this picture. Mr. Jack THOMPSON is deceased, his wife is deceased and as far as I have been able to find out, they have no children. ------------------------------------------------ HUTCHISON...VANDEVEER Maria Collins (cubahio@mindspring.com) 7 June 2001 Since placing a query about Perry HUTCHISON last April, I have learned that he and his family moved out of Council Grove (apparently before 1910), but when his wife, Olive died in 1929 she was buried in Council Grove. Their daughter, Gladys was then Mrs. Gene VANDEVEER of Parkerville, Morris County. I would like to locate her descendants to exchange information about the family. Also would like to know when Perry HUTCHISON died, and if he was buried in Council Grove. Perry's son, Floyd was living in Texas in 1929. Does anyone know if he returned to Kansas? Any information will be much appreciated. ------------------------------------------------ SCHWENDIG...KLATT...STEIGH Virginia Dougherty (swendig@teleport.com) 24 May 2001 Searching for information on the following individuals: Michael SCHWENDIG; Edd SCHWENDIG; Gottfried KLATT; Jacob SCHWENDIG; Samuel STEIGH; Anna SCHWENDIG. Father's name was Claude SLANE, brother was George, would like to know any other SLANE family members. ------------------------------------------------ HUTCHISON...COLLINS Maria Collins (cubahio@mindspring.com) 23 April 2001 I am looking for descendants and/or information about Perry and Olive HUTCHISON, and their children, Lloyd and Gladys. The 1900 Federal Census and the 1905 Kansas Census show them living in Council Grove (I haven't found them in the 1910 census). Perry and Olive were born in Ohio, the children were born in Kansas. Perry HUTCHISON had a sister named Letitia Ann. She and her husband, Albert Fletcher COLLINS, lived in Council Grove until at least 1915. I will appreciate any information about these people, and will gladly share what I know about the HUTCHISON family (a brother of Perry and Letitia was my husband's Great-Grandfather; A. F. COLLINS was not a relative, as far as I know). ------------------------------------------------ HOUTZ...WEAVER...SEXTON Larry Houtz (lhoutz1@cox.net) 21 April 2001 My cousin and I are researching our families. I am most interested in the WEAVER's and HOUTZ's in the Dunlap (White) cemetery. My Grandparents (father) had four sons and lived for some time just north of Dunlap, approximately 1920..1940. Grandparents were Charles Britt HOUTZ and Eva (SLACK) HOUTZ, their sons were born between 1905 and 1920, there was also a daughter but she died as an infant. The four sons were, Wayne HOUTZ, Lowell HOUTZ, Earl HOUTZ and Charles "Gib" HOUTZ (only one still living). I know Earl and "Gib" graduated from Dunlap High School. Would also be interested in any information on the SEXTON family. They lived near DUNLAP in the 1925 - 1945 timeframe. The parents were Enos and Della SEXTON (farming). Their children were: Lawrence Harvey SEXTON, killed in WWII; Shirley Mae SEXTON, died December 24, 1994; and Donald SEXTON still living as of April 2001. Any information will be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------------------------ FIGLEY...DIXON Claudia (swmntchr@aol.com) 17 April 2001 Searching for any information on the Robert and Canzada FIGLEY family who died in Parkerville. Also seeking any information on DIXON's. I believe that 'my' John DIXON lived in Dwight. I know he was married and had a family, but I don't know any names. I think that there may be DIXON's still living there. ------------------------------------------------ BERNARD...THOMAS Kenneth Thomas (kgthomas51@charter.net) 17 April 2001 I am searching for any information on a Anna BERNARD, her maiden name was THOMAS. I have information that her and her husband for which we don't know his first name or anything else for that matter had lived in Dunlap, Morris County, Kansas. I do know that she is buried in the Dunlap Cemetery, her husband may be as well. In an old obituary of my Great-Grandmother Mabel THOMAS it lists a W. W. BERNARD and a Fred BERNARD as attending her funeral. I feel reasonably certain that one of these two was the husband to Anna and the other may have been a son, just don't know which and haven't any other information. I will be extremely grateful for any information regarding these folks, especially Anna. ------------------------------------------------ FIGLEY...DIXON Dev Dixon Gately (cattails11@aol.com) 15 April 2001 I am looking for Great-Great-Grandparents, Samuel and Delila DIXON and her family that lived and I believe died in Morris County. The Robert FIGLEY's they were all born in the early 1800's and I think Samuel DIXON went there to be a miner and possibly died there around 1870. If anyone has any information on these families or the cemeteries that they might be buried in around there, I would be ever so appreciative, it's been hard to find a cemetery with a list to check anything out. ------------------------------------------------ BURGESS...DITCH...HENSROTH HOWERTON...KOBISKIE...TOOTLER THIM/THEM...PINICK Michelle Remele (michelle_howerton_remele@hotmail.com) 4 April 2001 I am trying to find information on the families I have listed.
