She was Lucretia TAYLOR. I located her on the 1860 Census in Bad Axe (now Vernon) County, Wisconsin. She is listed as 8 years old and was with the family of Daniel ALLISON. In 1870, the ALLISON family was on the Neosho County, Kansas census in Mission Township. Lucretia TAYLOR is not with them on this census. A book in the Chanute, Kansas Public Library, "Osage Mission Baptisms, Marriages, and Internments 1820-1886" shows a marriage for a Lucretia TAYLOR to Frank HINKLE on September 13, 1873. Does anyone have any information on these families that will help me find out what happened to this sister? Evidently the mother of the TAYLOR children, a boy and three girls, died in the late 1850's. The father must have placed the girls in homes, as the girls are all with different families in 1860. The father and son then must have traveled. I have traced the son down the Mississippi River to Louisiana, where he died in 1880. The father was with him there, and had evidently been with the son at least part of the time after they left Wisconsin. I know where the son was in 1870, but not the father. Another possibility was the ALLISON family connected to a QUICK family out of Canada? Lucretia's mother was Catherine QUICK. Most of the TAYLOR family was born in Canada. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------------------- LILLY Brian Hale (bhale65@csonline.net) 14 December 2000 Can anyone please look in the 1900 Census records for a Samuel & Mary LILLY, who lived in Chanute, Kansas?
