William, b: 1817, Illinois, wife Lavina, b: Illinois ----------------------------------- HESS Jim Hess (aljhess@cableone.net) 8 May 2004 Seeking information on the subject, William Wesley HESS, who moved to Neosho County in 1869. Where he and wife, Marie Antoinette (HAYMAKER) HESS raised 8 children, including my Grandfather, Albert Wesley HESS. ----------------------------------- JACOBS Fred Hendrickson (fredokc@aol.com) 1 May 2004 Seeking information on my Great-Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin JACOBS. Believe he went by 'Frank'. Born 18 February 1827, Frederick County, Maryland. About 1860-1882, lived in Knox County, Ohio, where he married Marietta ROCK. Lived in Jasper County, Missouri abt 1882-1890 (at least). Marietta died the 31 January 1889. Nothing is known of him after that date, except he died December 1917. But I suspect he moved to Kansas. On 1900 Neosho County, Kansas census is a Benjamin JACOBS -- possibly 'Benj. Frank' JACOBS (hard to read) -- whose information matches: born February 1837, Parents born in Maryland. Although his occupation is farmer (he had previously been a stone mason), that is possible since his sons were later farmers in Kansas. Shortly after 1900 -- and for numerous years thereafter -- my Grandfather, Hugh Marcellus JACOBS lived in Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas. Years of research indicates that my Benjamin Franklin JACOBS was probably the son of (Jonathan) Ignatius JACOBS and Mary Ann FOX of Frederick County, Maryland. I need to confirm this through a marriage, land or death record, obituary, newspaper article, etc. The Benjamin JACOBS on the 1900 census had been married less than a year to an Elizabeth, born Ohio (which would make sense). I would also like to determine this; and if so, her last name and whether they had children. Please let me know any information you may have that might help. ----------------------------------- WOOD Ellen Liles (ellenliles@windstream.net) 20 April 2004 Looking for information on Great-Great-Grandfather, Thomas M. COLE and Euphama Harmon COLE, Charles was born in 1832 and died 1892, and Euphama/Euphemia died 7 March 1900.
