Listings

Pratt County, Kansas

This is a listing of Fairview Cemetery as of 1976, I did my best to get the information correct but I am sure there are some mistakes.

It was called the Burbank Cemetery in the early days. It has been abandoned for many years. There was a town called Ludwick which was located at the six mile corner south of Pratt. It was a stage stop on the old Sun City Trail.
Stoops, George-B.Dec.16,1837 D.Mar.28,1916

Stoops, Infant-B.D.Sept.26,1902 age 9 dys(son of O.L. & M.T. Stoops)

Swisher, Infant-Possibly 1890-age 2 mos 10 dys(son of F.M. & Amanda Swisher)

There are no stones for the folling people but information gathered from various persons clam that these people were buried here also.

Grover, David-D.Aug.20,1894 age 79 yrs.(brother of Amos & father of Mrs. Maud Shand)

A grandson of David Grover was buried here also.

Several others who had been buried in this cemetery were later moved to other cemeteries.

Mr. & Mrs. Burbank were moved to Greenlawn Cemetery. Several members of the Trout family were moved to the Coats Cemetery and several babies of the Stoops family were moved elsewhere.
