These girls would be 3rd cousins to me.  It is important that I locate them regarding a common ancestor:  John Smith (no less)

I believe the girls' mother, Mary Ellen Parker lived at 1220 E. Ninth, Hutchinson and that her mother was Mrs. Joe Socha (Katie) and may have died in 1979.

Katie Amos

dau of Captain John F. Smith and Katie Garges

Any conformation or further info will be much appreciated.

Seeking to fill in holes in family tree of Elias Washington Jordanís 5 children: Florence C. Jordan, Herschel Val Jordan, Mary A. Jordan Soper, Chloe Mary Jordan Borders, and May Jordan (Harder?).  Especially need obituary of Herschel V. Jordan about 192x. and his sister May Jordan (Harder?) who supposedly died while in Oklahoma for Herschelís funeral.  I would guess this made the papers if May still lived in Reno Co. at that time.

Also seeking information on Soper family. Mary A. Jordan m. Socrates J. Soper and had 8 children: Susie, Ray J., Fred Lowe, Gale Raney, Herschel Vern, Elizabeth Faye, John M., and Ethelyn Soper.  Need marriages or obituaries for these children.

I am doing research on my WEAVER line and learned from the 1920 census that a possible ancestor, Ledford W. WEAVER, may have been in prison there in Reno County in 1920.  Can someone tell me if there is any way to get a copy of his prison record and maybe the circumstances of his imprisonment?  Also, where he was tried and for what offense he was committed?  Thank you.
