FITZGERALD, FITZGRALD, BROTHER, BRUDER, CADMAN, WELLS

I am searching for James FITZGERALD, son of John FITZGERALD. John was born in Ireland, to Edward ( or James) FITZGRALD and Mary BROTHER or BRUDER. He had at least four brothers that lived in St Clair County MI. He may have had a sister, Margaret FITZGERALD CADMAN that lived in Stafford Co for awhile. James lived in St John, Kansas. He was married, his wife's name was Jennie and they had a daughter, Mae. He also had a sister, Jennie. My mother visited them in about 1926 in St John. James was a retired farmer -age about 50-60. My grandmother also visited a few years before that.  Each came with Fred FITZGERALD, a brother of John's. Their surname was WELLS.

BONHAM

Am looking for David and Martha BONHAM, David dead by 1910 and Martha born 1829, died around 1913/14. They came to Stafford, Stafford County by 1900 1910 census.  Had children, Frank, Martha, Everett,  several others.  I am trying to find the graves of David and Martha Tebow BONHAM, she was born 1829 in Ohio, they were in Stafford County, by 1890's. On the 1900 census Martha is a widow and living with son Frank and grandson Roy. On the 1910 census they are still in Stafford county, and a sister  to Frank, Julia T. BONHAM is also living with them. The other children were Aaron born 1850, Margareth, Oliver D. Elvin, Evert and Martha [Mattie] born 1867 died February 1, 1950 and married Neils Tislum who are buried at Stafford cemetery, she had no children.

The 1900 KS  Stafford County census lists T. T. MESSENGER  and his family, where did they go?, what happened to his property?. His brother Robert MESSENGER was living with them. His sister Hester Ann married Robert NICHOLAS is living near them, but they came back to TN. Thank You.

Looking for August L. KUSKE (b. 1833 in Prussia) and Justina KUSKE.  August died in 1917 in St. Johns KS.  I cannot find where or when Justina died.  

 

IVY

I am seeking information on Floyd Newton IVY and wife Stella (Estella) and family.  They appear in both the 1910 and 20 census in Stafford County.  Also a brother, William Sidney IVY, wife Anna and children.  In addition a sister in law; Gertie Punckett and niece Lottie Bell.  Floyd and Sidney would by great uncles of mine.  I visited there in the late 1940's and remember they were farming although Sidney may have worked at a lumber yard in St John.   Their father John Hadden Ivy and second wife Nona were known to be in the area around 1926 and John Hadden may have passed there.  Both he and  Nona were returned to Pauls Valley, OK for burial.

I am searching for any info about the S. L. WILLIAMS family that lived in Stafford Co. ca. 1900-1910. Samuel WILLIAMS owned and operated the St. John News Depot. The family returned to their original home in Iowa, but some may have stayed in St. John or near there. Thanks.  

LOUEGAY, BALL

My great-grandfather, William Henry LOUEGAY, married a girl from Ray County, MO, on 05 JAN 1887.  Her name was Louise Kirtley BALL.  On their marriage license it says he is of Stafford County, Kansas.  He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1882.  I assume he was practicing medicine in St John.  Their only child, my grandmother, was born 06 MAY 1888.  I do not know whether she was born in St John, KS, or at her mother's home in Richmond, MO.  Is there anything in your old records to indicate that Dr LOUEGAY was practicing medicine when your county was newly established?  The reason I have homed in on St John in the county is because that town in on the back of some very early photographs of my grandmother.  I have reason to believe the three of them left for Denver, CO in the mid-1890's.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to find information on my DIERKING family.  My great
Grandfather's name was Friedrick August Karl DIERKING he was born in 1880. I have the birth certificate but can not read it because it is in German. His mother's name I believe was Wilhelmina or "Mina" Piper. His father  I believe was H. F. DIERKING. I need to find information on all three of these relatives. Ex: where and when Karl died and where he was buried. Where, his parents migrated to Kansas from and when they were married, born - where. Anything would be of help and greatly appreciated.

I have that Ida Bell EVERLY was married to Charles H. MALIN. Ida Bell EVERLY was the daughter of Reason Coil EVERLY and Catherine Courtney. Ida was born 22 Oct 1865 in West Virginia. She may have died 19 Jul 1949, but did die in Macksville, Stafford co, Kansas. I am looking for obituaries for Charles and Ida MALIN. Was he a minister?

I am trying to locate the grave site of my great- great grandfather, Arthur Louis MALANCON, died in Stafford County, Kansas, July 19, 1914 while working for a rancher.  It would mean a lot to my mother and myself.  Any information appreciated.

My great great uncle, James F. LOUTHAN, was living in Rattlesnake, Hayes Twp, Stafford County, Kansas in 1884.  I found this location on a map in Cutler's History of the State of Kansas. His youngest child was born in Hudson, Stafford, Co., Ks in 1886.  Rattlesnake is located 3KM SE of Hudson according to the GNIS website.  I would like more information on the history of Rattlesnake.

I have a sheet of stationary that is surrounded by a little dutchboy (very colorful) with small windmills on the top.  The title across the top of the paper is THE MILLS OF LARABEE, HUTCHINSON AND STAFFORD KANSAS.  Can anyone tell me is this has something to do with Stafford County?

I am looking for info on the Alfred COOK family that  lived in Stafford County in the 1880's especially any info on their son James.  From what I have been able to find out he is a possibility for my great grandfather and I am looking for further info to be able to prove or disprove it. HEIMULLER, HEGEN, VERNING

In March 1929 Rebecca HEIMULLER is listed in her sister's obituary as living in Stafford Ks. One of her daughters was Rosie HEIMULLER.  On a Gray's Studio-St John Ks photo are the names Nettie, John, Roseleen (Rosie Heimuller?). Martha, Cobus, & Median HEGEN, Fred & Clara VERNING. The photo is dated Dec 1929 Stafford Ks. Any information on this family would be appreciated.

Looking for family info on Charles BROWN, was mayor of St. John, his sister Amanda married gr. grandfather John KEELER. Any Info appreciated. 

HART, HUDSON, DARST

HART, Michael D. m. Martha E. (Hudson).  Michael died May 3, 1890, buried Peace Creek Cemetery.  His widow, along with other members of the HART/DARST families left Stafford County in 1894 and went to California.  I am searching for an obituary for Michael D. HART.  Any info greatly appreciated.
 

 

BALES, PETERIE, PETREE, SHIPLER

Looking for information on my gr. grandmother, Cora Alice BALES, born Nov. 27, 1874 in Ray or Caldwell Co. Missouri.  Her parents were Pleasant M. BALES and ??? PETERIE/PETREE.  Her mother died shortly after she was born and she was sent to live with her maternal grandmother in Kansas.  Quite possibly this was Melissa PETREE who was living with her son, John Andrew PETREE in Hays Township, Stafford County, Kansas, but this has not been verified.
Cora married Roy Leighton "Leat" SHIPLER on Febr. 26, 1893 and stayed in the Stafford, Rice and Reno county area until 1917 when they moved to Crowley Colorado to run a grocery store and cafe.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
