He was united in marriage to Agnes Jenista on July 22, 1908 at Caldwell, and started housekeeping on a farm west of Caldwell, where he and his companion have built a beautiful home.

To this union were born nine children, Mrs. Gladys Metz of Latham, Mrs. Algie Smrcka of Renfrow, , Edward Nulik of Blackwell, Mrs. Edna Krenek, Mrs. Lorraine Fogleman of Caldwell, Carl of the armed forces, Joe, Ivan and Lydia Ann at home. Five grandchildren, Denny and Jerry Metz, Mariann Smrcka, Marjorie Ann Krenek and Priscilla Ann Nulik also survive.

Other survivors are seven brothers, Ludwig and Ted of Wichita, Tom of Oklahoma City, Charlie, Joe, Fred and George of Caldwell; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cadek and Louise Nulik of Caldwell.

A precious one from us has gone,
the voice we loved is stilled,
But in our hearts there is a space
That never can be filled.

We loved him, yes we loved him
But angels loved him more
And lovingly they called him
To the other shore.

Some day, again we'll meet him
When this weary life is o'er
And we shall be united
Where partings are no more.
