My great aunt, Bertha Pearl Dugan, b Feb 10, 1893, in Clay Co, KS, married Carl Edwin HOFFMAN on April 22, 1914 in Manhattan, Riley Co, KS. Pearl (as she preferred to be called) and Carl lived most of their married lives in St George, Pottawatomie Co, KS. These areas of Clay, Pott, and Riley Co, are pretty socially and economically tied.
