James Hewitt may have been a brother to Isaac Hewitt, not a son as mentioned in correspondence. We know that Isaac and a sister located to NE in the late 1800's or early 1900's. These Hewitt's originally, came from MD and OH in the early 1800's, and ultimately settled in IA. They may have stopped in IL on the way. Then we have traced them to OK, KS and NE and back to IA. We are still missing a few links, but plan a trip to the midwest later this year to collect data. If you can contribute to this it would be greatly appreciated.
