In 1913 Alvin Porter Cole and his new wife Tracie E. Seymour Cole moved to Shawnee Co., KA from Indiana to farm on the property owned by M. T. Kelsey. On 7/25/1914 they had a daughter, Vaina Lee Cole, born in Topeka. On Feb. 4 1917, Alvin Porter Cole Registered for the military(Pg. 149 ). He reported to the Registrar's #15-1-38 June 5, 1917 in Shawnee, KA.
A. P. Cole & family lived and worked in Kansas for about 10 years. He shows up on the 1920 US Census, Shawnee, KA.
He lived and worked for his relative and employer, M.(Mel) T. Kelsey, from Indiana.
My mother, Vaina Lee Cole and father Russell Heiderman spent their honeymoon with the Kelsey's in 1930.
I spent a vacation at the Kelsey farm in Topeka, Ka with my grandparents in the summer of 1954.
