Johnson's 1877 history of Anderson Co. (p. 156,157) records the 1871 drowning in Pottowatomie Creek of James Town and his adopted son. His wife, Phebe Elizabeth (Shotwell) Town, survived. Anyone know where in Anderson Co. The Town father and son are buried. Phebe was my 2nd great grand aunt.
