William Harrison Transeau Jackson, 69, Rushville, died Friday, August 19, 1988, at his home.

The body was cremated. No formal services will be held. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice and may be left at Sawin-Dyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Jackson was born May 17, 1919, in Atchison, the son of Everett and May Lee Transeau Jackson. He attended Atchison High School before transferring to Kemper Military School, Boonville, Mo. He married Dorothy Lorsch on March 22, 1945, in Kansas City. She survives of the home.

Mr. Jackson served in the United States Navy from 1938 to 1958 having served in the South Pacific and many locations in the United States. After his discharge, he was employed with Page Airways in Atchison from 1959 to1973. He then went to work for the United States Labor Department as a health and safety inspector for OSHA. He retired from OSHA in 1978. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge at Rushville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodcarving, painting and all forms of artwork.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Mark P. Jackson, Atchison, and Jeffrey W. Jackson, Effingham; and a sister Dorothy Thompson, Kansas
