Albert Christian Heinrich Nolting, 96, of Nortonville, KS, died Wed. April 23, 2003 atSt.Francis Hospital, Topeka, KS.
Mr Nolting was born on August 13, 1906 on the family farm northeast of Nortonville, the son of Herman F. and Christine Louise Deerberg Nolting. Albert was the youngest of ten children. He attended the Lutheran German school, south of the farm, for four years and the Washington District #36 school also near Nortonville. Albert took over the family farm in 1922 when his father passed away. He had spent his entire life on the century family farm where he was born.
Mr. Nolting was a seed dealer for 50 years, served on the board of directors of the First National Bank of Nortonville and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Nortonville and had served as trustee and elder for many years. Albert was devoted to his family, his church and community.
Albert and Mildred Buttron were married on April 7, 1940 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Nortonville. They celebrated 63 years of marriagethis spring.
In addition to his wife, Mildred of the home, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Malcolm Gigstad of Everest KS, Their sons Scott and Shane and one great-granddaughter, Chase; A duaghter, Sarah, son-in-law Robert Schola, and three grandsons, Jason, Jared and Matthew, of St. Peters, MO, and one son, Melvin Nolting, his wife Emily and three grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew and SDimon, all of Nortonville. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. His parents, six sisters and three brothers preceded Albert in death
