Ernest R. Peuker, 64, died at 12:30 o 'clock this morning at his farm home, seven miles north Atchison. He had been in poor health two years and became bedfast two weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Edward Hauer will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The body is at the Stanton & Stanton Funeral Home and will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 1:30 o'clock until the funeral time.
A son of Carl and Louise Peuker, Ernest R. Peuker was born Oct. 26, 1887 on the family farm and spent his entire lifetime there. He attended Independence Valley School. Sept. 26, 1917 he married Miss Louise Kley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kley of Doniphan County, at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Atchison.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Peuker was a prominent farmer and was highly esteemed by his many friends.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Howard Hall (Ruth Ellen), Cummings, Mrs. Kenneth Reeves (Betty), Falls City, Neb., and Mrs. Raymond Hoffman (Virginia), Wichita; two sons, Ernest Peuker,Jr., St. Joseph, Dwight L. Peuker, north of town; a sister, Mrs. Warren Caraway, St. Joseph, and 12 grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Louise Thomas, Meriden and Mrs. Othilda Winkler, north of town.
