Mrs. Ellen Miller Snopak, 83, former area resident now of Kansas City, Kansas, died yesterday at a Kansas City, Kansas hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sawin and Dyer Funeral Home with the Rev. John Muncy, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Sumner Cemetery, located south of Atchison. Visitation will be at the chapel from 7-8 p.m. tomorrow.
A former Sumner resident, she was born Sept. 5, 1896, near Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna Syndner Miller. She was educated in the public schools of Iowa.
She married James Snopak in Sioux City on Oct. 30, 1917, and moved to Atchison. They lived at Oak Mills, St. Patrick and Sumner.
Mrs. Snopak is survived by two sons; Ernest Snopak, Amarillo, Texas, and Merle Snopak, Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters; Mrs. Goldie Smyth, Kansas City Kansas, and Mrs. Helen Flory, Route 3, Atchison; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Snopak was preceded in death by her husband and by a daughter, Sylvia Scott.
She enjoyed music and sewing and was a member of the Kansas Association o of The Blind. The family requests that contributions be made to the Kansas Association of The Blind.
