The Rev. Randy Baird was born April 22, 1955, to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baird in Norman, Oklahoma. Pastor Baird was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, attending St. Paul Lutheran Church and grade school. He graduated from Rider High School.
In 1977, while attending Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska, Pastor Baird met his future bride, Kimberly Jordan. They were married June 23, 1979, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittier, California.
Pastor Baird transferred to Christ college, Irvine, California, and graduated in 1979 as a member of the first graduating class. He was employed by the Bank of America for several years. While he was working there, he decided to attend Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, in 1984. His vicarage was spent at St. John's Lutheran Church, Waverly, Iowa. Pastor Baird graduated from Concordia Seminary in 1988 receiving the call to St. John Lutheran Church, Nashville, Kansas. He served there from June 1988 until January 1991 when he accepted a call to serve St. John Lutheran Church, Pryor, Oklahoma.
Kimberly Susan Jordan was born February 18, 1956, to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Jordan in Alhambra, California. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church and grade school in Whittier, California. Kim graduated from Pioneer High School. After two years at Rio Hondo Junior College, Kim transferred to Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska. Kim completed her student teaching requirement in East Detroit,
Michigan. She graduated in May 1978 with a B.S. in Education. She received a call to teach at First Lutheran School, Venice, California where she organized and taught the first kindergarten class there. After moving to Indiana, Kim taught Grades 2-3 at Emmaus Lutheran School and also worked in the library at Concordia Lutheran High School. At the present time she is a homemaker and substitute teacher.
The Bairds have been involved in foster care. While in Nashville, the Lord saw fit to place Cassandra in our home. She was born in Harper, Kansas, March 11, 1983, and came to live with us in 1989. Cassie was baptized in St. John's Lutheran, Nashville, in September 1990. Cassie's adoption by the Bairds should be completed in October 1992. Cassie enjoys playing with her friends, riding her bike and playing with her cat, Yahtzee.
