Pfc. Norman Raleigh, former Medicine Lodge resident, has been missing in action in Italy since Sept. 14 the War department has notified Mrs. Raleigh at her home in Isabel.Pfc. Raleigh was an employee of the Lodge Chevrolet while living in Medicine Lodge and his wife the former Claudine Peterie, operated a beauty parlor in the Newkirk Barber Shop. Pfc. Raleigh's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Raleigh, live in Cunningham.
The War department also announced last week that Pfc. Clyde R. Hakanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hakanson of Isabel, is reported killed after having previously been reported missing in action. Mr. and Mrs. Hakanson had been notified of this on August 26 but their son's name appeared in casualty lists announced last week.

Welcome news was received her Monday when it was announced that Pfc. Norman Raleigh is no longer missing in action but has been reported as a prisoner of the German army.
Pfc. Raleigh, former Medicine Lodge resident, was reported missing in action in Italy, about two weeks ago. He had been missing since September 14.
His wife, Mrs. Claudine Raleigh is living in Isabel and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Raleigh are Cunningham residents.
