The tragedies of World War II continued to be brought home to Barber countians this week when it was announced that Sgt. Russell S. Warrington is missing in action in the European theater since June 7.This is the seventh casualty to be announced for Medicine Lodge and surrounding communities in the past month. They include Sgt. Alvin Hoppes, killed in action; Pvt. Raoul Williams, killed in action; Pfc. Byron Gibson, killed in action; Sgt. Vernon Coss, wounded; Sgt. Ivan L. Cushenbery, missing in action and Sgt. Ben Von Achen, missing in action.
Sgt. Warrington was a machine gunner on a medium bomber. He is a nephew of Mrs. E. T. Lonker and Mrs. Sylvia Parr.
