Bonnie Pearl Wells was born in Barber County, Kansas close to Medicine Lodge, October 11, 1887 and died in the Anthony Hospital, Sunday afternoon December 19, 1937 at the age of 50 years, 2 months and 8 days.She was united in marriage to John R. Wells in 1903 in Pratt, Kansas. They began housekeeping in Medicine Lodge and this has been their home until their death, Mr. Wells having died August 19, 1934.
Nine children were born in the Wells home, all of whom survive except Esther Virginia who died in infancy.
Mrs. Wells was baptized in the Christian church early in her married life.
She was a patient sufferer and realized that she must die and leave behind her family. She made preparations for her funeral and testified of her faith in her Lord.
She was a faithful wife and mother. She devoted her entire life to her home and her children. For nine years although she lived here in Medicine Lodge, she was never in the stores or on the streets but worked and planned for her large family. Such mother love surpasseth all human understanding. Her loved children will always cherish her devotion and sacrifice.
She is survived by her eight children; Mrs. Wilma Pierson, Mrs. Cora Balding, Lester James Wells, Mrs. Velma Strain, all of Medicine Lodge, Mrs. Ruth Adams of Clarinda, Iowa, and Leonard Wells, Mrs. Buelah Springer and Johnnie Wells of Medicine Lodge; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Kidd, Medicine Lodge, Mrs. Beulah Riffle, of California. Three brothers, Ulness Adams, Enid Oklahoma, Archie Adams, Spivey, Kansas, and Virgil Adams, Medicine Lodge; fifteen grand children and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted the Forsyth Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, in charge of Rev. Chester A. Miles, pastor of the M. E. church. Interment was in Highland cemetery.

John Wells and Bonnie Adams were married in the city of Pratt Thursday, November 12, 1903. Mr. Wells is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wells and Miss Adams is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Adams. They returned home Sunday.
