Carol Lynn Swinehart, 61, passed away October 29, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born April 25, 1946 at Nashville, Kansas, the daughter of the late Delbert and Georgie Mae (Ross) Wehling.She graduated from Isabel High School in 1964 and earned her cosmetology certificate in Pratt, KS. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, and attended Watonga Methodist Church, Watonga, OK.
On June 28, 1964 she married Bobby Swinehart at Medicine Lodge. They lived in Medicine Lodge where they started a family of 3 sons, Derrick, Jared and Kory. In 1992 Bobby’s job took them to Watonga, OK and later on to Yukon, OK. Carol worked as a Beautician and Homemaker while in Medicine Lodge. While living in Watonga she especially enjoyed her time as waitress at the Nobel House. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time at the Drag Races with family and friends. A love of the game of basketball and the NBA Hornets coming to Oklahoma City gave her a lot of enjoyment over the past 2 years as a season ticket holder.
She is survived by her husband Bobby, Yukon, OK; 3 sons, Derrick and his wife Shanda of Greensburg, Jared, Hutchinson, Kory and his wife Sharla of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Aubrey, Selah, Brianna, Mason and Colby; sisters, Marilynn Lee of Mesa, AZ, Delpha Vincent, Wichita; brother, Kenneth Wehling, Wichita; a niece, Tara Virzuela and husband Paul, Mesa, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service was on Friday, November 2, at the United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge with John Hamm and Pastor Frank DeFisher presiding. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
