Funeral services were held last week for Charles W. Miller, 78, father of Wayne Miller of Medicine Lodge, and a Dodge City construction man for a number of years, who died Sunday night at his home there. He had been in failing health and unable to work much of the time for the past ten years. He went to Dodge City in 1927 to be associated with the Parham Construction Co.Mr. Miller was born in Pennsylvania July 12, 1865 and was an early resident of Kansas. He lived at Medicine Lodge before coming to Dodge City. He was much interested in sports, particularly fishing, and in recent years he devoted most of hs time to handling minnows for his fishermen friends, of whom he had many. He was on the fishing trips with them as often as his health would permit.
Mr. Miller is survived by his widow, and two sons, Clarence Miller of Dodge City and Wayne Miller of Medicine Lodge, and two grandchildren, Bernice Miller Jones of Dodge City and Harold R. Miller now in the army. A son, Bill Miller, died in 1921 and another child died in infancy.
