George Moores was killed in a car-truck accident early Tuesday evening 8 1/2 miles north of Medicine Lodge on Highway 281.According to the sheriff's office, Moores attempted to go around a car which had slowed to allow an oil field truck to clear the bridge and met the truck head-on. The impact knocked the semi-trailer loaded with equipment, into the ditch.
Moores was a Barber county rancher and operated a salvage yard west of Medicine Lodge.
He is survived by a brother, Victor Moores, and a sister, Dolly Moores.
