William C. Halsey
William C. "Bill" Halsey, 74, died April 29,
1997, at Alva, OK. He was born Oct. 10, 1922 at Shook, the son of Andrew
Clyde and Jessie Caroline Williams Halsey. An Anthony resident, he was a
retired routeman for Rainbow Bread Co. He was a member of Christian Church,
American Legion, Odd Fellows Lodge and Quails Unlimited, all of Anthony, and
American Bowling Congress.
On Oct. 25, 1941, he married Ann L. Lukens at
Medicine Lodge. She died Aug. 30, 1995.
Survivors include: a son,
William Michael, Wichita; a daughter, DiAnna Waldschmidt, Alva, Ok; two
borthers, Jack, Kingman, AZ, and Wayne, Wichita; a sister, Irene Dilts,
Littleton, CO; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Elliott Mortuary, Anthony, with the Rev. John
Schnelle presiding. Burial was in the Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society Lung Division in care of
the mortuary.
