Obituary: Henry Eli Kinsey

Henry Eli Kinsey, son of William David and Mary Arminda Kinsey, was born September 3, 1890, at Portland, Ind., and departed from this life Friday evening at 11:20 at Hardtner, Ks.

He spent his early boyhood in Portland, Ind., where he attended the city schools. He came with his parents to Kansas in March, 1910, locating on a farm near Forest City.

He was united in marriage to Rosie May Gant September 7, 1913, at Lake City and moved to a farm south of Forest City and resided there until the fall of 1936 when he moved to Medicine Lodge where he resided at the time of his death. Five children were born to this union, Walter, of Wichita, Pfc. Henry, Jr., wounded in battle February 18, and now convalescing in a hospital, somewhere in Italy, Sgt. David, who is in England, Sgt. Virgil, who is in the Aleutians and Ruth Esther of the home.

He was christened in the Methodist church in infancy later transferring his membership to the Methodist church of Forest City where he retained his membership at the time of this death. He was a kind and considerate father and neighbor and was respected by all his friends and neighbors.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, father and one brother, Glenn. Besides the above he leaves to mourn his passing a sister, Mrs. Dessa Leonard and a brother, Forest, both of Portland, Ind., three daughters-in-law, Esther, Marie and Mildred and one granddaughter, Sandra Sue and a host of other relatives and friends.
