Ina Mae Benfield, 82, died August 10, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.She was born March 20, 1918, in Iredell County, North Carolina, the daughter of Ernest L. and Mattie Poole Warren. A Kiowa resident since 1959, moving from Amorita, Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and managed a dairy barn.
She belonged to Congregational United Church of Christ, Kiowa. On September 21, 1940, she married James Grier Benfield at South Carolina. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gary, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a daughter, Gloria Jones-Wolf, Elk Falls; four brothers, Floyd, James, Ernest and Clyde Warren, all of Statesville, North Carolina; a sister, Ada Gaton, Statesville; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lee; and a sister, Ollie. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 12, 2000, at Congregational United Church of Christ, Kiowa, with the Rev. John Attaway presiding. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Kiowa.
Fisher Funeral Home, Kiowa, was in charge of arrangements.
