Funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon for Jimmy Angell, 21, who was killed Friday night in a motorcycle spill in Kansas City. A passenger, Miss Mary Martha Chaney, 19, an employee at the Lake City Ordnance plant, was also killed in the tragic accident.Angell, who was born and raised in Medicine Lodge, was well known here and his many friends were shocked to hear of his death. Rev. A__ had charge of the funeral services which were held in the Forsyth Funeral Home at three o'clock. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
Angell's motorcycle was hooked by a machine driven by Ward McVey, Kansas City, according to a story which appeared in Saturday's Times. The report said Miss Chaney and Angell were thrown into the air, and that Angell dropped in front of a wheel of an eastbound motor car. Miss Chaney fell on the pavement.
McVey and Browning were required to make coroner's bond but the report said neither was arrested.
Angell was employed in Kansas City as a driver for Forster's Funeral Home.

Wilbur Waldron Angell, better known as Jimmie, youngest son of John and Alice Angell, was born Sept. 18, 1921 at Medicine Lodge, Kansas and departed this life through accidental death, Sept. 10, 1943 at Kansas City, Mo., at the age of 21 years, 11 months and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister, Margaret.He leaves to mourn his passing four sisters and three brothers, Arthur of Denver, Colo., Robert of Arlington, Kansas, Mrs. Rachel Porter and Mrs. Vera Sanford of Kansas City, Mo., Lorena of New York City, N. Y., Helendeen of Ft. Smith, Ark., Mrs. Mildred Deweese of Lincoln, Neb., and John of Medicine Lodge, Ks. Other relatives and a host of friends.
Jimmie spent the major portion of his life in and near Medicine Lodge. At the time of his death he was employed by the Forster Funeral Home in Kansas City.
