John Fralich died at the home of J. J. Clark and wife west of this city Friday night, December 25th. His death was very sudden although those of his friends and relatives who were most familiar with his ailments were not surprised to hear of his death. Mr. Fralich had suffered for a number of years with complicated diseases and for over two years past has been under special treatment. On the night of his death he was on his way to take the train to go to Wichita to continue treatment. Soon after leaving home he became very sick and upon reaching Mr. Clark's house, was compelled to stop and died within a few hours.The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church in this city on Sunday, conducted by Rev. H. C. Duckett, and the body was laid to rest in Highland cemetery.
John Fralich was another of Barber county's early settlers who has answered the final summons. He was of German descent, born in the state of Pennsylvania September 28, 1841. He came to Barber county, Kansas in 1874 and accumulated land piece by piece until he had one of the largest and best stocked ranches in western Kansas.
About ten years ago he was married to Miss Laura Clark who with his sister, Mrs. R. V. Bloom, of Mingona township, are the only known surviving relatives. Mr. Fralich was 67 years, 2 months and 27 days of age.
