John St. Clair Williams, former Sun Citan, died at his home in Colorado Springs, November 20, 1942 at 7:20 a.m., after an illness of six months.Mr. Williams was born at Bloomington, Ill., August 17, 1857. He came to Sumner County, Kan., in 1876 settling near Caldwell, Kan., later moving to Lowry City, Mo.
In 1905 he came to Barber County on what is known as the Moffett ranch six miles north of Sun City. He lived around Sun City until 1929 when he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he lived until his death.
Funeral services were held in the Coats, Kan., M. E. Church, November 22, 1942, and burial was made in the Coats cemetery by his wife, Mary, who passed away on July 12, 1912. Coats Masonic Lodge was in charge of services at grave. J. P. Woods of Sun City, pastor in charge.
He leaves four sons and two daughters, the sons, Arthur of Colorado Springs; Harry of Knobnoster, Mo.; John of Portland, Oregon; Leo, of Tularosa, New Mexico, and Mrs. Ethel Eubank of Pratt, Kan., and Mrs. Ira Kennedy, of Wichita; two brothers, and one sister, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandson, and a host of friends.
Mr. Williams was a good neighbor and a friend to all who knew him, always ready to help anyone in need. A kind and loving father, who all will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren.
