Word was received by Rev. and Mrs. L. H. McCormick on Saturday, March 4, of the death of their son, Lester, in England on February 22. His wife who lives in Little Rock, Ark., had just been notified by the War department.BOMB EXPLOSION CAUSES DEATHHe was a S/Sgt. in the Army Air Corps having enlisted in Emporia in the National Guard in December, 1940, when such was sent to Camp Robinson, Ark. Later he transferred into the Army Air Corps and was sent to England in September, 1943.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his oldest brother, Robert, who is with the signal corps in New Guinea. Forrest who is an ensign in the Navy Air Corps, but still in the U. S., Horace who is a Navy Sea Bee and has just been home on furlough from Camp Peary, La., and an only sister, Mrs. Frances Bennett of Hutchinson.
No particulars in regard to his death have been received as yet.

OF SGT. LESTER McCORMICK
Rev. and Mrs. L. H. McCormick have received official information that the cause of the death of their son, S/Sgt. Lester D. McCormick "was the explosion of a fragmentation bomb in Tibenham, England." This confirms the telegram announcing his death which came ten days ago.
