Lon N. Hoagland, 79, of Pratt, died early Friday morning, December 17, at the Pratt Regional Medical Center following a long illness.A retired merchant, he was born March 16, 1903, in Sun City. He was married to Alma E. Barnard in Medicine Lodge on April 30, 1925.
He owned and operated a general merchandise and grocery store for many years in Sun City, Sawyer and Cunningham before retiring and moving to Pratt in 1958.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Pratt, and the Cunningham Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include the widow of the home; son, Donald of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; step-mother, Lenora Hoagland of Newton; brothers, Fred and Ralph, both of Wichita; two grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, at the Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt, with the Rev. William L. Harrold Officiating. Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City, Ks.
The family suggests memorials to the Cancer Society.
