Mary S. Woodward Dead.

Mary S. Woodward, wife of H. T. Woodward, died at her home in this city on Monday, June 29, 1903, at 11:30 a.m. Her ailment was internal cancer affection. She was sick many months and has undergone several operations and treatments in different hospitals, all of which temporarily relieved and prolonged life but hope for a permanent cure was abandoned some months ago.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church yesterday at 10 o'clock under the auspices of the I. O. O. F. The sermon was preached by Rev. J. L. Patterson.

Mrs. Woodward's death removes one of the noblest and kindest women from among the people of Medicine Lodge. Whenever sorrow and trouble came to a home she was always one of the first to assist, to soothe and to comfort, and it was always her especial delight to be friendly and to speak kindly to all. The esteem and love in which she was held by those who knew her best was demonstrated by the large congregation of sorrowing friend who gathered at the church to pay a last tribute.

She is survived by a husband and five grown children - Miss Bernice, Mrs. C. W. Kidd, Mrs. Clifton Murphy, George and James Woodward. She was 45 years of age.

The people of Medicine Lodge and vicinity extend sympathy to the family in their sad hour.
