Ruby A. Lumpkin, 91, died February 28, 1998, at Friendship Manor, Kiowa.She was born June 8, 1906, at Agra, the daughter of Walton H. and Becky (Thompson) Wilson. A Kiowa resident since 1993, she had moved from Roswell, New Mexico, after living in nearly 40 different locations. She was an artist, a seamstress, and a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Order of Eastern Star at Colby.
On February 26, 1923, she married Frank Kent Lumpkin in Phillips County. He died September 27, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Howard "Kent" Lumpkin, Roswell; a daughter, Pauline Wetz, Kiowa; a brother Woodrow Wilson, Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and thre great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials service was held Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Kiowa, with the Rev. Virgie Davis presiding. The body has been cremated.
