William C. Barnard, son of Frank and Ann Paddock Barnard, was born at Liberty, Indiana, March 15, 1846, passed away at his home east of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, May 13, 1937, age 91 years, 1 month and 29 days.He was united in marriage to Evaline Cook, September 13, 1870. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Nellie Angelo of Kingfisher, Okla., John D. Barnard of Denver, Colorado, and Charles E. Barnard with whom he made his home. Alfred a son passed away in infancy. His wife preceded him in death in April 1918.
Besides his three children he leaves eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, one brother, Herbert Barnard of Liberty, Indiana and a number of nephews and nieces. Many other relatives and friends also mourn his departure.
Mr. Barnard served during the Civil War in Company I, 167 Ohio Volunteers.
He moved with his family to Barber County from Okarche, Oklahoma, December 12, 1906.
Funeral services were conducted from the Forsyth Funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Interment was made in the Highland cemetery. R. C. Scott, pastor ot the local Christian church conducted the services.

Hoagland, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knowles, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clawson, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hoagland, Misses Alice and Olive Walker, all of Sun City; Mrs. Nellie Angelo, Rosa Dixon, W. B. Dixon, all of Kingfisher, Okla., Mrs. Ava Long, Piedmont, Oklahoma; Mrs. Esther Dial, Geary, Oklahoma; Miss Geneva Barnard Kinsley, Kansas; H. S. Dixon, Okarche, Okla., and L. R. Andrews and Elva Andrews of Harper.
