William Hillory Weidner died at his home a short distance south of town, on Saturday, January 2, 1909, at 2 o'clock p.m., aged 62 years, 11 months and 2 days. He died of heart trouble. About a month ago he was stricken and for a week his life was suspended on a slender thread, but he rallied and recovered sufficiently to be able to be up and attend to business. His death on Saturday was very sudden. He had been up and attending to his usual work around home that day.The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. T. J. Hudson and the remains laid to rest in Highland cemetery.
This death removes another early settler. The deceased came to Barber county in the early 70's, and excepting about six years when he lived in Oklahoma, has been a citizen here since that time. He is survived by a wife, two sons and one daughter - John and Henry Weidner and Mrs. Green Harris. One child died in its infancy. Henry resides in Oklahoma but was present at the funeral. The other son and daughter reside in this township.
The widow and sons and daughter have the sincere sympathy of their friends.
