BOLINGER LUMBER CO. - This firm was recently incorporated, and is owned by the Bolingers, who have lived in this vicinity nearly all their lives, and are known far and wide as honorable, fair dealing gentlemen, and we can assure our readers that when they do business with this firm, they will get a fair deal. A.A. Bolinger has charge of the business here, and is assisted by his son. We hope the readers of The Herald will watch the advertisement of this firm, and when in need of anything in their line, give them a chance to sell them.
ROUTH AND HOBBS - This firm is comprised of A.M. Routh, of Hiattville, and Mr. Hobbs, who has recently taken hold of the business here as a partner. Mr. Routh is one of the best known merchants in the county and has had a good business at Hiattville for many years. Mr. Hobbs is an obliging business man, and the goods he handles are first class, and he keeps everything usually found in a general stock of merchandise. You will be treated right by this firm.
WHITESIDE AND SON - This firm is made up of T.M. Whiteside, who is also postmaster here, and his son, W.I. Whiteside. These gentlemen came from Uniontown, to our town a few years ago, having purchased the stock, building and goodwill of L.B. Welch, an old time merchant here. These men are honorable gentlemen, and carry a general stock of up to date merchandise, and you will be treated right if you do business with this firm.
GLOVER BROTHERS - These boys have grown up here among us and are good business men in their line, and have conducted a confectionery here for several years and are also doing some grain business, and real estate and insurance. Any business entrusted to them will be promptly and well cared for.
MEAT MARKET - Thomas Lease now has the only meat market in town, as he recently purchased the interests of Mr. Bowers here. Mr. Lease will not spare any expense in making his business meet the requirements of the town, and will continue to keep on hand anything in his line of business that his trade requires. When you are needing anything in his line, buy of him.
BLACKSMITH - We would call attention to the advertisement of Daniel Johnson, who has one of the best equipped shops that can be found in a small town, and he is a good and obliging workman. Give him a call.
DRUG STORE - Mr. A.B. Stewart, who has lately come from Williamsburg, Kans., has a neat and complete stock of drugs and patent medicines, is a registered pharmacist, and you will find him to be a cautious gentleman, and anything needed in his line should be bought of him. This town has been without a drug store for some time, and we should now appreciate the fact that we have a good stock in that line, and encourage Mr. Stewart in every way possible.
PHYSICIAN AND SURGEON - The readers attention of The Herald is called to the card in this issue of Sheldon B. Hewett, M.D. The doctor has not been here long, but is fast becoming acquainted with the people, and is getting into their confidence, because he is genteel and very attentive to business. The doctor is a young man and has a bright future before him. Calls for professional services will be promptly attended to by him.
CONTRACTOR AND BUILDER - J.P. Ralston, whose card will be found in The Herald, is one of those kind of workmen who knows how to do anything he undertakes to do, and more than that, he will do just as much work, and do it just as well when you are not with him as when you are with him.
HOTEL SEARLE - Mrs. Ida Searle conducts one of the best hotels that can be found in any small town. The house is kept clean and neat, and the meals served are the very best. This town feels congratulated on the fine accommodations it has for the traveling public.
LIVERY BARN - Foster & Troy have been in the livery business here for several years, and have built up a good business. They keep good rigs and teams and keep everything in good order, and are after the business. They also have a barn at Uniontown. J.H. Foster has charge of the business here and G.H. Troy looks after the Uniontown business.
R.W. LEASE, M.D. - Dr. Lease is an old practicing physician, and has lived here a long time, and has a good practice.
