Graham & Scheck

Melissa Rene Scheck, Great Bend, and Charles Robert Graham, Jr., Great Bend, were united in marriage November 11, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church, Great Bend. The Rev. Don Paden performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a white satin dress with sheer Italian lace on the beaded bodice, long sleeves and appliques on the full skirt, enhanced by a square neckline with scalloped edging. The skirt and circular detached train were of white satin with the skirt being edged in lace. The bride carried long stemmed white tulips adorned with an embroidered white handkerchief and turquoise necklace. She was escorted by her brother, Jared Scheck of Great Bend.

Matron of Honor was Tonya Welsch, Great Bend, friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Rebekah Graham, groom's sister-in-law. The Bride's Attendants wore taupe empire style floor length dresses. They carried American Indian Feather Fans. Danielle Marquis, the bride's cousin from Salina, was flower girl.

The groom wore a black tuxedo and vest, with a western collar white shirt. His boutonniere consisted of a white carnation surrounded by baby breath and fern. The Best Man was Brent E. Graham, Manhattan, groom's brother. Groom's Man was Christopher R. Graham, Great Bend, groom's brother. The Groom's Men wore black tuxedos with silver vests and western collar white shirts. The boutonniere's were identical to the groom's. Tyler Crowe, the bride's cousin from Salina, was Ring Bearer.

Music performed during the ceremony was "I Swear", "The Maker Said Take Her", and "I Love You This Much". Ushers and candlelighters were Jared Scheck, Great Bend, bride's brother and Mark Colglazier, Great Bend, friend of the bride. Kathy Raya, Great Bend, friend of the bride, was in charge of the Guest Book. Ashaley Habberman and Amanda Schwager, both friends of the bride, Great Bend, were in charge of the programs.

A reception and dance was held at the Eagles in Great Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kirmer of Great Bend, friends of the groom, led the Grand March. Denise Mullen, Salina, cousin of the bride and Sharenne Mullen, Lyons, cousin of the bride, sat at the reception table.

Honored guests at the wedding were the groom's grandmothers, Mrs. Mildred Graham, Cottonwood Falls, Kansas and Mrs. Mildred Winslow, Verdon, Nebraska, and the groom's great aunts, Mrs. Lee Jacques, Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Ms. Ruth Harkendorrff, Verdon, Nebraska.

Melissa is the daughter of Ms. Peggy Crowe, Great Bend. She is currently employed in Admissions at CKMC, Great Bend.

Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Graham, Sr., Burdett. He is currently employed in Radiology at CKMC, Great Bend.

The couple spent a week honeymoon in Florida and are now at home in Great Bend, Kansas.
