Broiles, Joseph
Joseph Broiles Adjudged Insane.
Joseph Broiles of Matfield, who has
been serving time in the county jail here
was adjudged insane Wednesday in Probate Judge Wells' office by a jury of four
who heard the case. <
Broiles is only
twenty-one of age and he was serving a
sixty-day jail sentence for assault and
battery on one of his neighbors about
two months ago. He was probably mentally unbalanced at the time he committed this assault but since his incarceration in the county jail he has grown
worse and at times is so noisy at to disturb the court house people.
The jury who heard his case
Wednesday was Dr. C. M. Owen, J. E.
Bocock, G. E. Finley and C. E. Houston. Probate Judge Wells has appointed
C. D. Broiles of Clements, a brother, as
his guardian and has also made application to the State Board of Control for
his admittance to the State Hospital a
Topeka.
