Allison, Anita "Skip"
Anita Allison, 90, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at the Golden Living Center.
Anita, the daughter of Rebecca and Joseph Cysrian, was born at Moultrie, Ga., Dec. 12, 1916.
She attended Paducah Junior College, Murray State University and Wichita State University with three graduate degrees. In the 1940s she became an airport traffic controller and received her pilots license. She then took a job in Brazil teaching air traffic control and worked in the American Consulate.
She married Harry Allison and returned to Wichita in 1951. She taught English and Art in the Wichita Public Schools for 20 years. After her retirement she became a full-time artist.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Lockhart of Kirksville, Mo. and Dale Hartley of Saffordville; a son Daniel Allison of Wichita; and four grand-children.
